Building on the growing momentum and success of the Marshalltown Community College Esports teams, MCC has officially announced its tryout schedule for the upcoming season. The Tigers are looking to continue their winning tradition across a wide array of gaming titles. Prospective student-athletes can kick off the process by attending either the Informational Social and Mixer at 5 p.m. on Aug. 27 in the MCC Esports rooms or the Tryouts Kickoff Meeting at 9 a.m. on Aug. 28 in DeJardin Hall.
Tryouts are open to all students and gamers of all skill levels. The full schedule for move-in, informational sessions and tryout blocks is as follows:
Aug. 27
• All Day: Esports Move-In
• 5 p.m.: Esports Informational Social & Mixer (Location: MCC Esports Rooms)
Aug. 28
• 9 a.m.: Esports Tryouts Kickoff Meeting (Location: DeJardin Hall)
• 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Tryouts for Miscellaneous Games (Street Fighter 6, Tekken, Pokémon Champions,
Madden) and Rainbow Six Siege
Aug. 29
• 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Overwatch Tryouts
• 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.: Rocket League, Fortnite and League of Legends Tryouts
Aug. 30
• 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Mario Kart and Marvel Rivals Tryouts
• 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.: Valorant Tryouts, as well as Call of Duty (pending interest)
All tryout locations will be in the MCC Esports Rooms.
