By Times-Republican 2 min read

The Arts + Culture Alliance, in partnership with Marshalltown Central Business District and local artist Josh Cox, invites the community to the Mini Opening of Downtown Marshalltown’s Tiny Art Walk from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 7 at 101 W. Main St. (Vacant Lot).

This new public art experience transforms downtown into a gallery of miniature artwork, encouraging visitors to slow down, explore and discover creativity tucked throughout the heart of Marshalltown. As the final touches are completed, the community is invited to be among the first to experience the Tiny Art Walk and celebrate the local artists who helped bring it to life.

“Art has a unique way of changing how we experience a place. It’s little pops of creativity like this that encourage people to slow down, explore and see downtown through a different lens. The Tiny Art Walk is an invitation to discover something unexpected and to take pART in creating a vibrant community we’re all proud to share,” said Kelbryn VanGundy, marketing & program coordinator for the Arts + Culture Alliance.

Featured artists include:

• Lisa Cantrell

• Janet Collison

• Dawn Gettler

• Miguel Sanchez

• Jacqueline Zamora

• Nancy Jeanne Adams

The Mini Opening will include a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony, light refreshments and an opportunity to explore the Tiny Art Walk for the first time. The event is free and open to the public. Community members of all ages are encouraged to attend, discover the miniature installations throughout downtown and celebrate another creative addition to Marshalltown’s growing public art scene.
