WELLSBURG -- With the Iowa State Fair just around the corner, Ackley’s Little German Band will present a sneak preview of its Iowa State Fair concert at 7 p.m. on Aug. 10 at the Wellsburg City Park Bandshell. This year the band’s program will include many patriotic numbers plus a wide variety of entertaining polkas and marches, all in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
This special patriotic concert will be the band’s second performance in the refurbished bandshell, including the magnificent patriotic mural. In addition, the new adaptive playground is completed and ready for the children to play while parents and grandparents enjoy the music.
Fattee's Handbreaded Tenderloins will be on site from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with its food truck to satisfy any appetite. The Wellsburg Filling Station will serve cookies and be able to share construction updates. Peoples Savings Bank will get in the action by handing out waters, popcorn and M&Ms.
Bring a lawn chair and enjoy an evening of fun in the park. On Aug. 15, come see the German Band at high noon as they perform in Pioneer Hall at the legendary Iowa State Fair.
