The rain has resulted in continued adjustments to the progress and schedule; however, workers are still moving forward in the right direction with more asphalt placed and weather permitting, more planned for later on Aug. 4.
With the Aug. 4 shower and anticipated overnight rainfall, the full depth sections on First Street and Second Street have been delayed. A new door hangar was distributed to impacted properties this morning. As a reminder, during the full depth work – access will not be available to those driveways for two to three days.
Here are current projections of order for the areas that are ready for the surface course of asphalt [Note, limited curb work and manhole box-out work will follow]:
• Aug. 4
South First Street from West Linn Street to West Church Street
West Linn Street from South Third Street to South First Street
• Starting Aug. 4 if time/weather allows otherwise estimated Aug. 5 or Aug. 6
North Second Street from West State Street to West Lincoln Street
West Webster Street from North Second Street to North Center Street
West Grant Street from North Second Street to North Center Street
• Late Aug. 5 or Aug. 6 (Note – Contractor may get pulled to support full depth efforts with an additional crew before finishing West State Street. In that case, the crew would return sometime within the following week.)
West State Street from North 13th Street to North Fifth Street
• For the full depth sections, with drive access impacts, crews are anticipating milling, stabilized subbase installation and three lifts of asphalt to be placed between existing curb and gutter:
• 6 a.m. on Aug. 6 - 6 p.m. on Aug. 8
South Second Street from West Ingledue Street to Columbus Drive
• 6 a.m. on Aug. 10 - 6 p.m. on Aug. 12
South First Street from West South Street to West Ingledue Street
As with construction projects, this schedule is just a best estimate if weather and equipment allow – but be patient and flexible as crews work to bring this project to a wrap.
