The Marshall County Republican Pachyderm Forum will meet at noon on Aug. 21 at Legends American Cafe.
The program will be the first of two panel discussions on the current data bank issues facing Marshalltown and Marshall County voters and elected officials. Speakers for the first session will address the issue from the city’s perspective. They include Board of Adjustment member Mark Eaton, At-Large Counselor Gary Thompson and 3rd Ward Counselor Greg Nichols.
The goal is to separate fact from fiction and identify real questions facing the decision makers. After initial comments from panel members, the meeting will be a question and answer session with the audience.
Forums are open to all interested persons who may arrive after 11 a.m. for informal discussion and lunch if they wish. A second data center panel is being developed for a Pachyderm Forum which will focus on the issues from the county’s perspective. It will include three officials from Marshall County and is being scheduled in September.
The Aug. 28 meeting will be the September RCC meeting, moved up from Sept. 4 due to the Labor Day Holiday weekend. This business meeting will include a short presentation by District Zack Lahn Director Mike Ruopp.
