Ceremony of Remembrance is Friday

A Ceremony of Remembrance for those lost during the terror attacks on the United States of America that occurred Sept. 11, 2001 will be held at the Marshalltown Police and Fire Headquarters on Sept. 11.

Members of the Marshalltown Police and Fire Departments as well as the Marshalltown Combined VFW/American Legion Honor Guard will conduct a Service of Remembrance beginning at 7:40 a.m. with opening remarks by the Marshalltown Fire Chief, Invocation by MFD Fire Department Chaplin and a Moment of Silence.

"Four Fives" Bell Ceremony conducted by the Fire Chief followed with a prayer and 21 gun salute conducted by the Honor Guard. TAPS with honors rendered will conclude the ceremony at 8 a.m. Community members are encouraged to attend.
