DES MOINES -- Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird congratulated Deputy Luke Hageman on his graduation from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in a ceremony held at Valley Church in West Des Moines on Aug. 21. The graduation ceremony was attended by family, friends and law enforcement officials from across the state.
Hageman was part of the 327th graduating class and completed the academy's rigorous 16-week training program that consisted of coursework in policing communications, criminal law, physical fitness and emergency response. He also received training in patrol procedures, investigations and tactical and administrative skills. Bird welcomed him on stage as he was presented with his diploma by ILEA Director Brady Carney.
"I am so proud of our Iowa Law Enforcement Academy graduates for answering the call to serve," said Bird. "It is a challenging and demanding job, but it’s essential for the safety of our communities. Our state is grateful to them and their families for their selfless sacrifice. As Attorney General, I look forward to working with them in the line of duty and my office will always be here to offer unwavering support."
Hageman was recognized for his physical fitness by joining the "300 Point Club." He will serve with the Marshall County Sheriff's Office.
