Scholarship winners for the new academic year were recently awarded their awards from the Izaak Walton League, Marshall County Chapter. Left to right are Hunter Hughlette who will be a senior at ISU in Animal Ecology. Next is Maverick Grafke who begin his college studies at Hawkeye Community College in conservation biology. Third is Carter Kemp in his Junior year at ISU in biological systems engineering. Fourth is Zach Morris also at ISU in biological engineering. Each scholarship winner received a check in the amount if $3,500 toward their college expenses. Izaak Walton League has a dedicated fund from the Piper family and others, invested to generate interest income that allows for scholarship assistance for students entering or on colleges studying conservation related curriculums. A new round of scholarship applications will begin in early 2027. High school career guidance counselors will have access to Marshall County Chapters.
