The Marshall County Republican Forum will meet at noon on Oct. 30 at Legends American Cafe in Marshalltown. The speaker will be Iowa House District 52 Representative David Blom (R, Marshalltown), who is seeking reelection in the Nov. 3 general election.
Blom has spent four years working on issues affecting Marshall County at the Iowa Legislature, including two years serving as a legislative clerk for Representative Dean Fisher. During the forum Blom will discuss his work with Marshall County residents, local officials and community organizations as well as legislative efforts addressing veterans affairs, property rights, public school funding, property and income tax reform and mental health services. Additional topics will include funding resources for local programs such as the Triumph Recovery Center, health care access and Medicaid, childhood cancer research and efforts to improve Iowa’s water quality.
The forum is open to the public. Attendees are welcome to arrive after 11 a.m. for lunch and informal discussion before the meeting.
