DES MOINES -- The holidays are just around the corner. Instead of hitting the Black Friday sales, give gifts with homemade flavor. Don’t miss the Consumable Christmas Gifts class at 6 p.m. on Nov. 17 in The Kitchen on the Iowa State Fairgrounds with Chef Andrea Love.
Participants will learn how to make homemade vanilla paste, flavored syrups (pumpkin spice and apple brown sugar), spice mixes (taco and BBQ) and hot cocoa mix. Each participant will take home recipes, gift-giving ideas and samples to share.
Consumable Christmas Gift-Making Class will last 90 minutes and is limited to 30 participants. Open to adults and children over 10 years old. Participants take home recipes, tags, a list of sources for jars and samples of everything made in class.
