G-R FFA competes at Soil Judging

GLADBROOK -- On Sept. 28, the Gladbrook-Reinbeck FFA chapter took three teams to the North Central District FFA Soil Judging Competition at NIACC in Mason City. Team one placed silver with members that included: Karina Arvizu-Ersland, Prycley Beard, Kohen Gienger and Dally Nicholas.

Team 2 placed bronze with members that included: Anieyah Bradley-Schulark, Colbie Roseland and

LaKenze Shipley. The last team, team 3 also placed bronze with members that included: Dustin Blohm, Eastyn Schick and Owen Giesking.

At this contest, there were 66 teams that competed. Contest members recommended agricultural and non-agricultural uses for the land. In the four soil pits they identified soil profiles, surface

features, best soil management practices and land productivity.
