Downtown Marshalltown will trade its everyday bustle for twinkling lights, carolers and holiday cheer on Nov. 21, as the Marshalltown Central Business District hosts its 34th Annual Holiday Stroll, presented by Emerson. This year’s theme, “Wrapped Up in Christmas,” sets the tone for an evening of parades, performances and old-fashioned holiday fun across the Central Business District.
This year’s lineup includes the return of the Holiday Stroll Parade, marching through a shortened downtown route, along with Santa’s Workshop and live musical performances throughout the evening.
The Christmas Craft Village, organized by AB Events, will fill downtown with handmade gifts and holiday shopping from local artisans and vendors, and the Window Decorating Contest returns with downtown storefronts dressed for the season.
“Holiday Stroll is one of the most beloved nights of the year in downtown Marshalltown,” said Danielle Lekin, MCBD executive director. “It’s a chance for families to slow down, enjoy the season together, and see just how much our downtown businesses and volunteers pour into this community.”
MCBD thanks presenting sponsor Emerson, along with its other 2026 Holiday Stroll sponsors, for making the evening possible, and encourages downtown businesses, vendors and community groups still interested in taking part to reach out before the event.
Community groups, businesses and organizations are invited to join the Holiday Stroll Parade, and downtown businesses and community groups can enter the Window Decorating Contest, dressing up storefront windows along Main Street for the season. Sign up for both at downtownmarshalltown.org.
As the holiday season gets underway, MCBD reminds the community to shop local and support the independent businesses that make downtown Marshalltown special.
A full calendar of 2026 Holiday Stroll events and activities will be available soon at downtownmarshalltown.org.
