Student activities play an important role in the Marshalltown community, creating opportunities for young people to develop new skills, pursue their interests and build lasting connections. To support those experiences, First Interstate recently contributed $1,000 to the Marshalltown Bobcat Booster Club and sponsored the new scoreboard at the Marshalltown High School swimming pool.
The Bobcat Booster Club helps fund student activities across Marshalltown Community School District, supporting athletics, drama, band, Future Farmers of America and other extracurricular programs that enrich students' educational experiences.
"We're grateful for First Interstate's continued support of Marshalltown students and activities," said Ryan Isgrig, activities director for Marshalltown Community School District. "These contributions help strengthen programs that give students meaningful opportunities to participate, grow and connect with their school community."
For First Interstate, these investments reflect a belief that activities outside the classroom help shape confident, engaged and well-rounded young people while strengthening the community as a whole.
"Schools play an important role in the life of any community, and the opportunities students have outside the classroom help them discover their talents, build relationships and develop skills that stay with them for years to come," said Tom Farley, community branch manager of the Marshalltown Downtown branch. "We're proud to support programs that create those experiences and help students feel connected, challenged and inspired."
The new scoreboard at the Marshalltown High School swimming pool will serve athletes, families and spectators during swim meets and other school events. First Interstate's sponsorship continues a longstanding commitment of supporting student achievement and instilling school and community pride.
"Our support goes beyond a single donation or sponsorship," said Jenny Meling, community branch manager of the Marshalltown Southridge branch. "It's about investing in opportunities that bring people together and help students thrive. When students succeed, communities succeed."
As First Interstate prepares to relocate its Marshalltown Downtown branch in November of this year, they remain focused on serving and supporting the community it has called home for many years. The new branch will provide an enhanced banking experience while allowing First Interstate to continue investing in local organizations and initiatives that make Marshalltown stronger.
