Jansen Jamboree held Aug. 22

The annual Jansen Jamboree was held Aug. 22 at the Haverhill Community Center with 60 descendents of Delbert and Sophia Jansen, now continued with the family of the Donald and Hazel Jansen. As the years have grown with several great grandchildren the younger generation has organized the event. Many thanks to David and Laura Leavy, of Denver, Colo., who got the ball rolling. Justin and Mindy Karl, of Des Moines, were in charge of the corn cob/pulled pork meal and many salads and special scotcheroos made by Emily Melliere, of Charles City. IVCCD honors faculty, staff and community partners

Iowa Valley Community College District brought together faculty and staff from Marshalltown Community College, Ellsworth Community College, Iowa Valley Grinnell and Business & Community Solutions Tuesday for its annual Iowa Valley Day, held ahead of the fall semester.
