Tiger softball players earn national academic recognition

Two standout student-athletes from the Tiger Softball program have been named All-American Scholar-Athletes by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, a prestigious national honor recognizing outstanding efforts both on the field and in the classroom. Recent signee Shalei Morn and returning utility player Kiara Brannon both earned the Easton NFCA recognition by maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher, proving that dedication to academics can match the intensity of collegiate athletics. Library to host Historic Textile Fair

In conjunction with the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration, the Marshalltown Public Library will be hosting an Historic Textile Fair from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on July 18. Local fiber artists will display quilts and demonstrate spinning, weaving, tatting and quilt block cutting and piecing. Bring a friend, stop by and learn something new. This program is the second in a three-part summer series celebrating heritage arts and crafts. Experience the agricultural past at the Threshing and Power Show

ELDORA — Families looking for some good old fashioned fun, filled with free activities, plan to come to the 2026 Threshing Festival and Power Show on July 25. The event will be hosted by the Hardin County Farm Museum on location north of Eldora. There is no admission to the show and all activities are free.
