Voting equipment jam triggers recount
The Marshall County Board of Supervisors called an emergency session on Wednesday morning at the election center after some voting equipment jammed while tabulating primary results Tuesday night. According to County Auditor/Recorder Nan Benson, seven total ballots across five precincts — State Center, Le Grand, Redeemer Lutheran Church, Miller Middle School and the YMCA — were counted twice due to the malfunction, but due to the margins of victory, the outcomes of races will not be affected.
