On Sept. 30, the Marshalltown Police Department and Marshall County Sheriff’s office hosted their annual Child Car Safety Seat Event at Fareway parking lot. There were five certified Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Technicians working during the four-hour event. At the end, a total of 72 seats were checked and inspected and 20 new replacement seats were provided for recalled or expired seats.

This was one of the biggest events we had with the most seats checked during a four-hour time frame. We were able to provide the public with the information and education on the importance of child safety seats. A special thanks to Fareway for the use of their parking lot and Al Hoop and the Mid Iowa Regional Board of Realtors for donating toward the purchase of new seats.
