Patricia Packer

Patricia Louise Packer, 65, of Tama, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Accura Healthcare of Toledo under the care of St. Croix Hospice. A Public Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Maple Hill Cemetery in Montour. Survivors include her brother, James “Jay” Packer, of Tipton; sister-in-law, Marlene Packer, of Chelsea; three nephews; two nieces; two great nephews; two great nieces. Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Debra Hasselman

Debra (Debie) (Roberts) Hasselman, 63, of Marshalltown, passed away on June 13 at the Allen Hospital in Waterloo. She was preceded in death by her entire immediate family which included her husband, Douglas in 2013, her parents, Burley L. and Betty (Wells) Roberts, and her 2 brothers, William and James Roberts. Expressions of remembrance will be made at the upcoming Roberts family reunion in August.

Richard Phillips

Richard Phillips, Jr., 69, lifelong resident of Ferguson, passed away Sunday morning, June 14th, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 19th, at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation. George Robert Oetker, 87, of Tama, Iowa, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, at UnityPoint-Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with burial to follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Tama. Stephen Leo Schossow, 57, of Marshalltown, died June 8, 2026, in Des Moines. He will be laid to rest at Cedar Cemetery in Fonda, Iowa. A private graveside service will be held for the family. Marcee Wright, 65, of Gladbrook, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, surrounded by her family at Westbrook Acres. Left to cherish her memory are her longtime boyfriend of 33 years, Mike Baumeier; her children: Bob Wright (Danielle Jardee), Tom (Carrie) Wright, Bill Wright, Rick Wright (Amanda Scovill) and April Burg; and five grandchildren.
