Kiwanis Noon discusses busy June

The Kiwanis Club of Marshalltown “Noon” held its regular meeting Tuesday at the American Legion Hall, 1301 S. Sixth St. President Linda Dodd Smith called the meeting to order. After the pledge to the flag, Harold Cline led a prayer. Happy Dollars were donated by Mike Gowdy and Ken Smith.

It was reported that local Kiwanis Gumball Machines earned another $129.46 for the scholarship fund. The board of directors approved monthly reports and voted to support the local “Tee’d Up Fore Cancer” fundraiser with a donation of $100. The club will also be cooking pancakes at 8:30 a.m. on June 17 at GrimesFarm. The local Kiwanis Aktion Club will have a tip night from 5-8 p.m. on June 19 at the Marshalltown Pizza Ranch.

The Marshalltown Noon Kiwanis Club will offer a 30-day free trial membership, including meals to those interested in checking out a service club. This will be an excellent way to introduce new people to serving the community. It meets Tuesday at noon at the American Legion building on South Sixth Street. Offer is for limited time only.

Next week on June 13 the Kiwanis Club of Marshalltown (Noon) will meet at O’Hungry’s at the Regency Inn, Iowa Avenue and Highway 14. The program will be about UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown.

Donations were collected for the Under Privileged Children’s Fund.
