P.E.O. Chapter LT installs officers for 55th year

P.E.O. Chapter LT elected and installed officers for its 55th year at a regular meeting on March 2 at St. Henry’s Church dining room.

The officers for the 2020-21 year are President, Mariam Koenigs; Recording Secretary, Rhonda Miller; Treasurer, Karen Berger; Chaplain, Lisa Koester; Assistant Chaplain, Jana Latham; Guard, Amy Stahlin; Assistant Guard, Mary Miller. At the next meeting, May 4, Vice President Gina Ruddock and Corresponding Secretary Lori Johnson will be installed.

Shala Ludley gave the P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship report which was established in 1949 to provide scholarships for international students to pursue graduate study in the U.S. and Canada.

Hostesses were Ludley and Stahlin.

Feb. 3 a meeting was held at Iowa River Hospice House with Rhonda Miller, Kay Iverson and Estelle Perkins as hostesses. The members made valentines and treat bags for those members and non-residents unable to attend meetings and hospice patients.

On Jan. 6, they met at the public library to hear Janelle Carter share her experiences and insights of living here for 25 years related to the health, education, housing and new businesses. Ann Paulus was initiated and welcomed to the sisterhood. Lori Johnson and Karen Berger were hostess and tea committee.
