The Assistance League of Marshalltown will be hosting its annual Spring Thrift Sale from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on April 20, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on April 21 and from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on April 22. The sale will be held at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum, 20 W. State St., Marshalltown. Saturday morning will be a sack sale. Each person can buy a large garbage sack for $10. All items they can fit into the bag, they can have for the cost of the sack. There will be clothes (babies, kids, junior, women’s and men’s), shoes, jewelry, purses, housewares, books, toys, holiday items and possibly furniture items. Any money that is raised will be given back to help fund projects in the Marshalltown community, everything stays local. The sale has been going on since the 1960’s.
