Ben Veren and members of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department collect a check for $505 from the Marshalltown Evening Lion’s popcorn sales from last week at Hy-Vee. Connie and Richard Kennelley presented the check to help fund the K-9 Fund for a police dog. The Evening Lions have given more than $12,000 this past year to community projects from its sales of popcorn and donations on Saturdays at Hy-Vee.
