P.E.O Chapter NU’s program on Oct. 6 in the Orpheum Theater Black Box was presented by some of those involved with the Bobcat Cafe located in the Orpheum. Pictured left to right are culinary students Ellie Downs, Rubi, and Tyler Dorothy with Instructor Jules McGrew. They discussed the steps taken to establish the cafe, the inner workings of running it and educational gains from the Marshalltown Hight School program. They left delicious samples of the baking and gourmet coffee for the meeting’s fellowship time. Following NU’s official business meeting, Deb Ruddick hosted the gathering with the help from the tea committee Mary Douds and Janice Pageler. Jeanne Christensen gave all a taste of her granddaughter’s (Grace Christensen) first honey harvest. Note the honey bottle on table which complemented the treats.
