Noon Lions welcome new member
The Marshalltown Noon Lions welcomed a new member Charlotte “Hoke” Farr. They also celebrated Jim Bagnall’s 65-year membership and Mel Dostal’s 50-year membership. Farr gave a program on the 1984 Lions International Convention in San Francisco that she and Jack attended.
Election of officers held at Sigma Master
Sigma Master Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi met at Pizza Ranch on Feb. 11 with 11 members, a Member at Large, two guests present and four members excused. President Caralee Hutchens thanked Karen Shipley-Cooper for hosting. Psi Chapter learns of family development resources
Psi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma met at 5 p.m. on Monday at the Fisher Community Center. President Michelle Ritter greeted members with hot chocolate and tea and an assortment of heart-shaped cookies. Chapter BB meets at Mowry Irvine Mansion
P.E.O. Chapter BB of Marshalltown held its regular business meeting on Feb. 3. Michelle Rosenburrough hosted the meeting at the Mowry Irvine Mansion with the assistance of Carol Terry, Kathy Beane and Julie Hitchens. There was plenty of business to cover including a reading of Sylvia Lowrance’s presidents letter highlighting this last year of her presidency. “How you think plus how feel equal how you act.” That was the message Dr. Paul Daniel began his remarks to Rotary with on the subject of mental health issues during the club’s Feb. 11 meeting. Seasonal Affective Disorder is a form of depression that is more pronounced in the northern regions due to lack of sunshine.
