Rotary hears about future plans for UnityPoint

Rotarians enjoyed Kay Beach at the keys while partaking lunch at the Black Box Theatre for the Oct. 29 meeting. Beach filled in for a recovering Arlene Selby. Bonnie Lowery presided over the induction of the club’s newest member, Kristie Fisher, chancellor of Iowa Valley Community College District. Chapter BB initiates new member

P.E.O. Chapter BB gathered on Monday at the Mowry Irvine Mansion at 1 p.m. The hostess, Michelle Roseburrough along with the tea committee of Sue Cope and Sandy Short served a delightful fall dessert. The meeting was opened by President Sylvia Lowrance who led the ceremony of initiation for Barbara Lorenzo. Following the meeting LaDonna Allison and Lowrance led a review of the book “Tending Roses” by Lisa Wingate. The story is a touching tale that reminds us to stop and smell the roses. President Kenny Lamb called the meeting of Kiwanis P.M. to order at 7 p.m. on Wednesday with the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence. Peggy Lamb introduced speakers Kristie Fisher, Cindy Schulte and Kathy Pink, representing Iowa Valley Community College District and the upcoming referendum on Nov. 5.
