American Legion Post 46 to celebrate Halloween

Oct. 26 will be a busy day at the American Legion Post 46, 1301 S. Sixth St. in Marshalltown. Starting at 4 p.m. the American Legion Auxiliary will be hosting a Trunk or Treating for kids 12 and under. Little ghosts and goblins can enjoy candy and fun in a safe environment. Local businesses along with Legion and Auxiliary members have donated candy and funds for this event. At 7 p.m. the American Legion Post 46 in Marshalltown will be hosting an adult costume party with a contest for best costume. The Marshalltown Evening Lions held a regular meeting last Wednesday at the Hy-Vee deli area at 7 p.m. After a meet, greet and eat time from 6:30 p.m. until 7 p.m., President Sandy Thomae called the meeting to order. The club stood and recited the ‘Pledge of Allegiance’ to the American flag, sang “My Country Tis of Thee” and then a prayer was led by Brad Braga.
