Steve and Kris Blocker, of State Center, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kayla Nicole Blocker to Zachary Ryan Carr son of Rick and Johneen Carr, of Altoona, and Doug and Lisa Foley, of Ankeny.

The bride is a 2009 graduate of East Marshall High School. She attended Waldorf College receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in exercise science and health promotion and a Master of Arts degree in community health education from the University of Northern Iowa. She is currently employed as a corporate health consultant at Central Iowa Healthcare.

The groom is a 2008 graduate of Southeast Polk High School. He also attended Waldorf College receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in business management and sports management. He is currently employed at Wells Fargo Bank as a personal banker in Marshalltown.

The wedding is planned for Oct. 3 at Cornerstone Church in Ames.
