Accidents
On Thursday, a car driven by Ricky Huerta, of Nevada, was northbound on South Center Street when it went out of control, crossed over onto the median in the 1900 block of South Center and struck a reflective sign at this location. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Huerta car was estimated at $2,000 while the reflective sign received an estimated $100 in damage.
On Wednesday, a vehicle driven by Shona Lynn Pennington-Otto, of Marshalltown, was westbound on Pleasantview Road stopped at the intersection with South Sixth Street when it proceeded to turn left onto Sixth crossing the path of a Jeep driven by James Jason Bowie, of Marshalltown, which was traveling north on Sixth Street resulting in the Bowie Jeep broadsiding her vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Pennington-Otto vehicle was estimated at $2,000 while the Bowie Jeep received an estimated $1,500 in damage.
