• Kirk Robert Williams made an initial appearance on a violation of probation charge. The probation revocation hearing is set at 10 a.m. on Feb. 11. Williams is being held without bond.

• Jose Miguel Aceves made an initial appearance on a operating while under the influence-first offense charge. Aceves will hire his own counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Feb. 11. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.

• On Tuesday, Jesus Perez, 25, was arrested on an animal complaint.

• On Tuesday, Omar Sanchez, 27, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Tuesday, Micheal Boge, 58, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Tuesday, Larry Kunc Jr., 43, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Tuesday, Alicia Vargas, 27, was arrested for domestic abuse assault-first offense-causing bodily injury.

Accidents

• On Tuesday, an SUV driven by Amin Peter Awa, 48, of West Des Moines, was westbound on Marshalltown Boulevard when it struck a deer that entered the roadway causing severe front end damage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Awa SUV was estimated at $9,000.

• On Jan. 11, a car driven by Archit Mahendra Kumar Trivedi, 30, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Highway 330 when a deer entered the roadway and was struck causing functional front end damage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Trivedi car was estimated at $3,000.
