• Ismael R. Leon Rodriguez made an initial appearance on a violation of probation charge. Tyler Haberman is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Leon Rodriguez is being held without bond.

• Brittany Joeanne Blocker made an initial appearance on a violation of probation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Blocker is being held without bond.

• Angel Manuel Madrigal Rosales made an initial appearance on a operating while under the influence-first offense charge and a possession/carrying weapon while intoxicated charge. Leah Patton is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on June 17. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.

• Jade Leigh Mauseth made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. Mauseth pleaded guilty and the fine is $105 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $202.50.

• Darrell Melven Morris Sr. made an initial appearance on a dog at large charge. Morris pleaded guilty and the fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.

Accidents

• On Thursday, May 22, a Jeep driven by Prince Kevin Ingabire, 23, of Urbandale, was northbound on Marsh Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Ingabire Jeep was estimated at $8,000.

• On Monday, May 19, an SUV driven by Letty Barrera Viramontes, 32, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Reed Avenue when the driver swerved to miss hitting an animal in the roadway and veered into the northbound lane striking head on into an SUV driven by Rebecca Sue Martinez, 38, of Marshalltown. Medical attention was refused by both vehicles. Damage to both SUVs was estimated at $10,000 each.
