Arrests

• On Tuesday, Jan. 6, Carina Victor, 31, was arrested for assault-general.

• On Tuesday, Jan. 6, Brady Carlson, 31, was arrested for attempted burglary-third degree.

• On Tuesday, Jan. 6, Ethan Garrett, 21, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

• On Monday, Jan. 5, Matthew Dickerhoff, 42, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Monday, Jan. 5, Eh Kri, 37, was arrested for operating while under the influence-second offense.

• On Monday, Jan. 5, Jerry Cripps, 49, was arrested for sniffing glue/chemical substance-prohibited and on a warrant.

• Brady Wayne Carlson made an initial appearance on an attempted burglary-third degree charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 16. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Amber Rose Niederklopfer made an initial appearance on a controlled substance violation charge and a forgery charge. The public defender’s office is appointed for both charges. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 16. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.

• Florencio Montes Mariano made an initial appearance on two counts of an operating while under the influence-first offense charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. One charge has a pre-trial conference set for 9 a.m. on Jan. 16 with a jury trial set at 9 a.m. on Jan. 29. The other has a preliminary hearing set at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 16. Total bond is $3,000 cash. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.

• Ethan Michael Garrett made an initial appearance on a disorderly conduct charge. Garrett pleaded guilty and the fine is set at $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.

• Carina Clarice Victor made an initial appearance on an assault-general charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 28 in Magistrate Court. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Thomas Steven Marson made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. Marson pleaded guilty and the fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.

Arrests

• On Tuesday, Jan. 6, Amber Niederklopfer, 42, was arrested on a warrant charging her with forgery and conspiring intent to deliver/manufacture methamphetamine.

• On Tuesday, Jan. 6, Jeremiah McMullen, 20, was arrested on a warrant charging him with theft-fifth degree, credit card fraud and theft-second degree-motor vehicle.

Accidents

• On Thursday, Jan. 1, an SUV driven by Tammy Lou Viers, 60, of Marshalltown, was northbound on Highway 14 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway resulting in heavy front end damage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Viers SUV was estimated at $15,000.

• On Thursday, Jan. 1, a car driven by Jennifer Joan Lada, 53, of Marshalltown, was northbound on Highway 14 when it struck the remains of a recently hit deer in the roadway sustaining minor damage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Lada car was estimated at $3,000.

• On Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025, a car driven by Stacy Lynn Brinkmeyer, 59, of Hubbard, was eastbound on 190th Street when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Brinkmeyer car was estimated at $8,000.
