Adam Sodders has joined the staff of the Times-Republican as a full-time reporter.

Sodders will cover education and other general assignment stories for the T-R, while also continuing his studies at Iowa State University, where he is majoring in journalism with a minor in Spanish.

Sodders previously interned with the T-R last summer and continued to do occasional correspondent work.

A State Center resident, Sodders, 21, has also lived in Marshalltown and Conrad. He graduated from West Marshall High School three years ago.

At West Marshall, he said he discovered that he “loved writing and decided to pursue a writing-centric career.

“My parents, Steve and Carrie Sodders, encouraged writing and reading from an early age,” he said.

Sodders has one sister, Maggie, who is graduating from West Marshall this Sunday.

“My family and I love doing outdoor activities and reading,” he said. Some of Sodders’ hobbies and interests include fishing, reading, listening to music, exercising, studying Spanish and being with friends.

“I am excited to be working for the Times-Republican. I look forward to bringing news and stories to residents in Marshall Country … I look forward to contributing to the T-R.”
