Marshalltown man killed in Polk County crash
BONDURANT- A Marshalltown man has been pronounced dead after a single-vehicle accident just south of Bondurant on Saturday night.
According to a release issued by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Joel Alvarez of Marshalltown was traveling northbound on Hubbell Road and began to leave the roadway toward the median. The driver then overcorrected, lost control, entered the east ditch and rolled several times. Deputies were called to the area at approximately 10:27 p.m.
Alvarez was ejected from the vehicle and died on the scene, and a female passenger was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The accident remains under further investigation, and no other information is currently available at this time.
