A man was arrested in Marshalltown on Saturday night after allegedly exposing himself in public on North 1st Street.

According to an arrest report, 33-year-old David Ray Cox, who is listed as homeless, was “in public exposing his genitals or pubes to another, not the person’s spouse.”

An officer arrived on scene and saw Cox without jeans or underwear, and the defendant admitted to being naked in public. He was charged with a single count of indecent exposure, a simple misdemeanor, and as of Monday afternoon, he was not listed as an inmate in the Marshall County Jail after posting a $1,500 bond. He has pleaded not guilty, and a pretrial conference is scheduled for Oct. 1 at 9:30 a.m.
