Kay L. Kingrey was born on June 12, 1946 to Earl and Ann (Diamond) Eygabroad in Marshalltown, Iowa. She graduated from Marshalltown High School with the Class of 1964. She was a Foster Care provider from 1969 until 2010, in that time she cared for many infants that were drug affected. Being able to help those children was her passion and favorite career that she had. After her work as a foster care provider, she then worked for CIRSI in Marshalltown until she was not able to continue due to health reasons. Her love of helping others showed in her volunteer work assisting with the House of Compassion, Heal the Children, Marshalltown Little League, Marshalltown Football League, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Birthright, and the Foreign Exchange Student Host Program.

Left to cherish Kay’s memory are her children: Christine (Scott) Buckley of Waukee, IA, Victor (Sylvia) Kingrey of Pflugerville, TX, Tracy (Scott) Baumgartner of Liberty, IL, Shon (Tiffany) Kingrey of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and Sarah (Shawn) Babberl, of Marshalltown, IA; grandchildren: Megan (Nolan) McCarthy, Trent Buckley, Joshua Kingrey, Justin Kingrey, Madeline Kingrey, Stephanie (Andrew) Hilgenbrinck, Devin Baumgartner, Ryan Baumgartner, Jillisa (James) Hayward, Christofer Kingrey, Kaytlan (Travis) Briney, Austin Kingrey, and Gabrielle Kingrey; great-grandchildren: Eamonn, Kellen, and Ronan McCarthy, Waylon and Hunter Hilgenbrinck, Elijah Hayward, Kayden Kingrey, and Lyam and Emersyn Briney. She is also survived by siblings: Sandy (Steve) Andrews of Storm Lake, IA, Mike (Kathy) Eygabroad of Lake Ozark, MO, and Terry (Lynne) Eygabroad of Sycamore, IL

Kay is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Ann; granddaughters Kaylynn “Katie” Buckley and Emily Kingrey; and many aunts and uncles.
