Supporting Sarah Tupper

I am writing you to endorse Sarah Tupper for Marshall County Attorney. In the elections this November, we have the opportunity to elect a county attorney with a broad array of experiences across the state of Iowa. Sarah has been a prosecutor in different counties in Iowa, giving her a wide range of experiences.

Experience is critical to this position. Sarah grew up in Russell, Iowa. Since my grandparents lived in proximity to this community, I know that you don’t get much more rural than this part of the state. At the same time, she’s prosecuted crimes in communities like Ottumwa, Adel, and Waukee. The experiences of growing up in a small town similar to Gilman and the experiences in communities the size of Marshalltown has enhanced her skills in protecting all people in Marshall County.

Since coming to Marshall County in 2012, the good hard-working people have benefited from her prosecution skills that have achieved justice when crimes have been committed. Marshall County offers a large variety of opportunities for Iowans. Some of the best farmland exists in this county, a large number of the citizens live in small towns, and Marshalltown is one of the most diverse communities in the state. We need a county attorney who understands these varied and unique aspects of the county.

It is also important to have a county attorney who is forward thinking. As a mental health professional and a substance use disorder professional, I understand the role that these conditions play in crimes committed. Sarah’s understanding and willingness to promote effective forms of treatment goes a long way in adding additional protections in Marshall County.

Sarah’s recognition as a leader goes back to her high school days. That recognition continued through college and law school. Now, she is called on to train law enforcement and other professionals in best practices. When you add all of these skills together, the choice is clear: Sarah Tupper should be the next Marshall County Attorney. Please vote for her in the November election.
