NEWTON — Kassy Vest helped lead the Marshalltown girls’ golf team to a fourth-place finish Thursday at the Newton Invite at Westwood Golf Course.

Vest shot a 50 to lead all Bobcat golfers, who shot a collective 211. Grinnell won the meet with a 179, while Johnston was second with a 184 and PCM was third with 194 in the seven-team tournament.

Emily Vest shot a 53, while Emily Hass and Bella Russell each shot 54s to round out scoring for the Bobcats.

Marshalltown is back in action Tuesday with a CIML Iowa Conference dual meet at Mason City.
