Henze takes discus, MHS 5th in CIML Iowa meet
DES MOINES — Malory Henze took home the CIML Iowa Conference title in the discus throw, tossing 125 feet, 4 1/2 inches Thursday, leading the Bobcats to a fifth-place finish with 45 team points.
Jill Podhajsky was third in the same event, throwing 109-6 1/2 for six team points.
Marshalltown’s 4×200-meter relay of Kierra Gardner, Alyvia Chadderdon, Sarah Trowbridge and Regan Mazour took fourth in a time of 1 minute, 54.95 seconds. Gardner was also fourth in the 200 dash, running a 27.52.
Mazour took fourth in the long jump, going for 14-5 1/4, while Chadderdon was sixth with a jump of 14-3 1/2.
Grace Metzger took fifth in the shot put, throwing 32-4 1/2, the 4×800 relay of Mia Barajas, Erica Johnson, Pricila Vergara and Kaci Uhde were fifth (11:20.98) and the shuttle hurdle relay was fifth as well (Sami Trowbridge, Brianan Dean, Alli Trowbridge and Gabby Himes; 1:16.76).
