IRVING, Texas — Iowa State women’s basketball junior Bridget Carleton was named preseason all-Big 12 honorable mention by the Big 12 Conference coaches on Wednesday.

This is the first preseason honorable mention for Carleton, who is one of four returning unanimous All-Big 12 first-team members from the 2016-17 season.

Carleton averaged 15 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 steals last season. The Chatham, Ontario, Canada native also finished last season second in the nation in free throw percentage with a 93.6 percent clip from the charity stripe. She currently ranks first in the Iowa State record books in career free throw percentage at 88 percent.

Last season, Carleton earned two Big 12 Player of the Week honors and scored in the double figures in 24 of 31 games.
