MHS matmen decked by Fort Dodge, 52-18

FORT DODGE — The Marshalltown wrestling team lost on the road in a CIML Iowa Conference dual to Fort Dodge on Thursday, 52-18.

The Bobcats (2-9, 1-4) came away with two decisions and two forfeits against the Dodgers (6-2, 4-1), who are the No. 6 dual team in Class 3A as ranked by The Predicament.

Jordan Anderson, who was recently ranked No. 3 at heavyweight in 3A, took a 4-1 decision over Logan Finowski.

Zach Bitker, currently ranked No. 10 at 126 pounds, came away with a big 6-5 decision over Brooks Cowell, who is ranked just ahead of Bitker in ninth.

Julian Gomez at 220 and Gannon Williams at 170 were both given wins by forfeit.

Of the 10 losses for the Bobcats, six were by pin and, one was a technical fall and two were major decisions.

Marshalltown is scheduled to compete in the Ankeny Duals on Saturday, weather permitting.
