Musgrave selected to IBCA All-Star team

South Tama County senior Jessica Musgrave has been selected to play in the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Games.

Musgrave, a three-time all-state selection in her time with the Trojans, will play for the Southeast Iowa Girls team, coached by West Burlington head coach John Vandenberg and Van Buren head coach Matt Zeitler. Joining Musgrave on the team are Mediapolis’ Maya Johnson, Lynnville-Sully’s Carson Fisk and Grinnell’s Naomi Jackson and Macy Harris.

Musgrave helped the Trojans to a state tournament appearance in her junior campaign and STC reached the regional final again this year but eventually fell to state runner-up North Polk.

West Marshall head coach Fred Zeller will also appear in the games at Dallas Center-Grimes High School on March 23 as a co-head coach for the Northeast Iowa girls, alongside Gregg Groen from Cedar Falls.

Zeller coached the West Marshall girls to the state tournament this year for the first time since 2012. He will be coaching NICL West Division athletes Aubrie Fisher from AGWSR and Hailey Wallis from Grundy Center on the team, as well as big names like Megan Meyer from Mason City, Leah Van Weelden from Marion, Briana Baker-Bruce from Janesville and Callyn Fox from Center Point-Urbana.
