HILLSBORO, Mo. –The Marshalltown Community College men’s soccer team closed out its season-opening road trip with a 3-1 win over Jefferson College and improved to 2-0 on the year.

The second-ranked Tigers trailed 1-0 at halftime 1-0 with sophomore goalkeeper Matteo Crescente recording three saves in the first half. The Tigers rallied in the second half with three goals and for the second time in as many matches this season rallied back after trailing in the first half.

MCC’s Yushi Nago tied the game late in 60th minute while Matheus Pereira broke the game open and scored goals in the 65th and 70th minute.

MCC will have its home opener against Waubonsee CC on Saturday at 2 p.m.
