After finishing fifth in the nation last season, Marshalltown Community College men’s soccer team finds itself ranked No. 2 in the NJCAA Division I Soccer preseason rankings.

In the 2018 preseason rankings, the Tigers were ranked at No. 19.

Reigning 2018 national champion Pima (Ariz.), again finds itself at the top of the rankings at No. 1. Other teams ranked in the top-10 that made the national tournament last season are Tyler (Texas) ranked at No. 3, Monroe (N.Y.) ranked at No. 4, St. Louis (Mo.) ranked at No. 6, Barton (Kan.) ranked at No. 8 and Georgia Military ranked at No. 10.

MCC’s national tournament opponents Eastern Florida State and Cowley (Kan.) are ranked No. 5 and No. 16, respectively.

Other teams included from the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference are Iowa Lakes, ranked at No. 11, Indian Hills ranked at No. 18 overall and with Iowa Central receiving votes.

MCC starts the season on the road against Lewis & Clark CC on Aug. 23.
