LOS ANGELES — Iowa State women’s basketball player Ashley Joens has been named to the Wooden Award Preseason Top-30 Watch List, the award committee announced Tuesday.

Joens, a 6-foot junior, is averaging 30.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game one week into the 2020-21 season. She scored 36 points in the Cyclones’ loss to South Dakota State, which registered as the fifth-highest single-game scoring performance in school history.

The Wooden Award All American team will be announced the week of the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Tournament.
