DES MOINES — In an intra-state Missouri Valley Conference rivalry game, the Drake women’s basketball team was the top dog Wednesday night.

Led by 21 points from Grace Berg and a strong defensive performance, the Bulldogs bounced back from two-straight defeats to beat UNI, 96-79.

The Bulldogs (8-8, 6-3 MVC) never trailed and held the Panthers (8-8, 5-4) to 8-for-30 shooting from 3-point range.

A second-half UNI rally attempt was led by leading scorer Cynthia Wolf (18 points) but by the end of the third quarter the Drake lead was back to 21 points.

Maya McDermott scored 15 points and Megan Maahs added 12 for the Panthers.

Kierra Collier scored 17 points, while Courtney Becker added 13 points for Drake.
