Marshalltown High School graduating senior Maeve Janssen signed her National Letter of Intent this spring, committing to the College of Saint Mary and the Flames’ swimming program. Janssen, seated center, was joined for her signing ceremony by her parents Jennifer and Mark (seated), her sister Jorja (standing center), Bobcat girls’ swimming head coach Angie Nelson (standing at right) and assistant coach Leah Barkema (standing at left). The College of Saint Mary is a private Catholic women’s university in Omaha, Neb., and a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The Flames compete in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. Janssen intends to pursue a nursing degree.
