’Cats 4th in the North

Marshalltown duo claim all-conference honors

WATERLOO — The Marshalltown girls’ bowling team placed fourth out of five teams in the Iowa Alliance Conference’s North Division meet on Tuesday at Cadillac Lanes.

Ames won the closely contested team title with a 2,157 total in the tournament. Fort Dodge (2,123) was second and Mason City (2,108) third.

The Bobcats brought home fourth place with their 1,973 total, and Waterloo East was last at 1,769.

Leading the way for MHS was Devin Peterson, who posted a series of 171-160-134–465. Peterson placed fifth overall and earned first-team all-conference honors, while Camillya Thomas was a second-team selection after scoring seventh with her 145-131-168–444 series.

Next in for MHS was Ariana Villagomez, who rolled a 372 series, while Natthaphat Khamponsan and Sydney May both totaled 368. Zhixuan Li rolled a 318 to round out the Bobcats’ individual efforts.

Fort Dodge’s Amyrra Lumsden won the individual conference crown with her 529 series.

The Bobcats’ top score in five Baker games was a 164 as MHS averaged a 134.8 in the second round.

Mason City had the top Baker rounds with a 740 total, but still couldn’t catch Fort Dodge for second.

Ottumwa edged Des Moines Lincoln for the South Division crown, 3,186-3,162. Lincoln’s Michelle Wilson won the medalist honors with a 716 series.
