Brian Archie Seeger, 67, of Groveport, Ohio, passed away on May 13, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on September 30, 1954, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to William and Cathryn (Whitlow) Seeger.

A native of State Center, Iowa, Brian graduated from West Marshall High School in 1972 and Iowa State University with a PhD in Higher Education Administration. He spent 27 years at Columbus State Community College and took pride in education. He was an admired mentor and a noted leader by all who knew him. He played a central role in creating numerous innovative student programs that remain his legacy to this day.

An avid baseball lover, Brian enjoyed coaching and watching as many games as he could. (Go Yankees!) He cherished being outdoors and found great joy in music. A prolific writer and journalist, he never missed a chance to share his passion for words through cards, notes and encouragements.

The epitome of a family man, he wore his title “Girl-Dad” proudly! Spending time with his grandkids was something he treasured. Brian relished every opportunity to show up for those he loved. Whether it be a school event, birthday or a simple phone conversation, he was always there.

Brian met his soul mate and partner in life, Ms. Diane Jones, in 2014 and has been devoted to her ever since. Brian and Diane’s true love shined through to everyone and gave light to all in their presence.

Brian is survived by his soulmate and life partner, Diane Jones; father, William Seeger and William’s wife, Mary Jo Seeger; sister, Jennifer (Seeger) Town; daughters, Stephanie Seeger and Kristin Seeger and their mother, Patti Seeger; grandchildren: Kaleb and Aly; Diane’s mother Ruth Lipkin, her children, Diane Massey and Rodney Massey and her grandchildren Ty and Chloe, and many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Cathryn Seeger.

He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 19, 2022, from 6-8 p.m., at Newcomer SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, 43213. There will be a Memorial Service for Briat 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Broad Street Presbyterian Church, 760 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43205.
