IVCCD board OKs RACOM job training agreement
During a regular meeting held in Iowa Falls at the Ellsworth campus on Wednesday, the Iowa Valley Community College District (IVCCD) board of directors approved a 260F job training agreement with RACOM along with a series of fee increases for the upcoming year.
Neysa Hartzler, the district’s business outreach coordinator, said she was “excited” to be working with the Marshalltown-based company on their second project with IVCCD. According to Hartzler, it will involve leadership training for current managers, and a motion to move forward with the $7,099 agreement carried unanimously.
Elsewhere in the regular action agenda, the board approved a long list of fee increases, early retirement applications from four current employees and the 2023-2024 academic calendar. Earlier, IVCCD Chief Information Officer Mike Mosher gave a detailed presentation on plans to combine the financial aid offices at Ellsworth and MCC, and during the president’s report near the end of the meeting, President Kristie Fisher discussed a possible change in strategy on working with elected officials to focus on workforce solutions.
The board broke for dinner and then held its annual retreat with a roundtable discussion to consider goals and initiatives directors feel they should pursue going forward.
