Road Closure extended

The Marshall County Road Department has extended the road closure of the 2600-2800 mile of Knapp Avenue from E-63 to 265th Street to 4 p.m. on Sept. 21 unless the weather cooperates. The intersection with E-63 is getting regraded. There is not a posted detour route. For more information contact the Road Department at 641-754-6343.

Miller Middle School 9/11 Quilt: memory and meaning

Do you remember where you were and what you were doing on Sept. 11, 2001? Of course you do. In Marshalltown, Miller Middle School 8th graders had just begun the fall semester. One of the required 8th grade courses introduced students to life skills such as cooking and sewing. For the sewing unit each student brought a quarter yard of three different cotton printed fabrics to create a log cabin patterned pillow top.
